HIGH SCHOOL

Cultural Transition

IEI has customized our high school enrollment services to allow the participants to be immersed in the American cultural and learning environment while providing close academic support.

We assist in school placement, host family selection and placement, and continued support services

Our programs are structured to provide smooth and speedy transition and successful integration in new English-centric classroom settings with our partner institutions.

IEI Culture Mentorship

Our Culture Mentorship is modeled after the “Big Brother” or “Big Sister” approach for all 9th and 10th graders.

9th and 10th graders will meet with their Culture Mentor for 2hrs every-other-week to learn more about aspects of American culture.  This will provide an opportunity for them to build relationship with a young adult, have some introductory experiences into American culture, and provide IEI a chance to keep tabs on their language proficiency and if any emotional or educational items of concern are developing.

11th and 12th graders are required to take our ESL (English as a Second Language) class, which is specific to their language proficiency needs.
